Ffair yr Nadolig ac arian!

Our Christmas products are coming along nicely but how much should we sell them for…?

Excel was the chosen software to help us decide. The formulas are often difficult to remember, even for adults, but some remembered the work they completed with Miss Jeakings earlier in the term.

Which type of structure? Pa fath o structure?

We’re almost ready to design our skyscrapers but first we need to know what types of structures there are. They’re all quite wordy and full of technical descriptions so we’ve had a go at building little models that represent the different types of structures, for example; braced frame, rigid frame, wall-frame, shear wall, core and outrigger, infilled frame, flat plate & flat slab, tube and coupled.

Children in Need

Today our School Council decided we would celebrate Children in Need. Pupils and staff made donations to wear non-uniform.

Recount writing!

Barcud Coch have been working hard on a Friday afternoon to complete an extended write! Last week they completed a cold write (no help at all) to recount an investigation they carried out. We then studied recount texts and looked for the features they need. Following on from this, we looked at specific sentence structures and time connective we could use to develop our writing!

Urdd competitors

A massive Da Iawn to the Urdd members that represented the school in the Urdd County Cross-Country and in the regional round of the Cogurdd and Popurdd. Arbennig!

Big Questions with Mr Meredith (Diocesan Director of Education) RVE 07/11/24

We worked with Mr Meredith, looking at a piece of art work by Romola Parish, called ‘Wilderness’

We discussed how the image made us feel and then tried to answer the following questions:-

Where are you standing in relation to the picture? Are you in it, or an observer, watching what is going on?

Which do you relate to- the bird or the sheep? Can you think why you feel more like one, or less like the other?
