This our new E-Safety Council. Welcome to our new members and thank you to pupils that returned. Today we reviewed our three Acceptable Use Agreements and distributed them around school for signing.
We have consolidated all our learning of the rainforest by making a rainforest in a shoebox. We thought about the weather, features of the rainforest and the animals that live there.
This afternoon we had great fun creating a rainforest buggy for explorer Bethan using the Lego Spike Essential from our cluster coding kit. We followed the instructions carefully to create the buggy and then we used our programming skills to change the colour of the lights. Great team Work!
Today we had a great day celebrating Wales through lots of fun, Welsh activities. Reception focused on ‘Sut wyt ti?’ and Year One ‘Ble wyt ti’n byw?’ We played parachute games, decorated biscuits with feelings and houses and loved the silent disco!
Reception pupils had the task of packing Bethan’s (welsh explorer) suitcase for her trip to the rainforest. Pupils decided what to put in the case and take out of the case, using their knowledge of what the rainforest is like and the weather there.
We played ‘Musical Friendships’ as part of our work on being a good friend. When the music stopped we had to find a friend and do something kind. We had lots of hugs, fist bumps and high fives! It made us all feel really happy!
This afternoon, Reception and Year One enjoyed a local woodland walk. We discussed the features of the wood, how it felt and what we could hear. We compared it to the rainforest.
We had great fun completing VE Day Lego Challenge cards. We chose who we worked with and which challenge we wanted to complete. We made celebration cakes, peace gardens, spitfires, Union Jack flags and old-fashioned radios. We have shown that we have great construction skills!
